Fully automatic leaf area index meter application cases
Leaf area index (LAI) is an important parameter for the structural characteristics of vegetation canopy, which is commonly used in remote sensing models, crop growth models, yield forecasting models, and land surface process models. The wireless network-type leaf area index meter (LAINet) is the first one in China that realizes the fully automatic measurement of LAI, and is able to obtain the long time series of vegetation canopy leaf area index continuously and automatically under unattended conditions.
The sensor node can automatically, continuously and accurately measure the transmission radiation of the vegetation, and estimate and calculate the leaf area index of the vegetation by calculating the transmission capacity of the vegetation to different angles of solar radiation. The Leaf Area Index (LAI) meter has the capability of automatic network observation, which is suitable for long-term unattended measurement when deployed in field observation stations.
